ADMIRAL Bundesliga Match Day 6 Reviews
SC Austria Lustenau 0-6 FC Red Bull Salzburg

Salzburg hit their stride on Saturday with a convincing win over high-flying Lustenau. Fernando opened the scoring with goal number four of the season, and his first from the penalty spot, before a pinpoint Maurits Kjaergaard shot from outside the area made it 2-0 at the interval. Nicolás Capaldo scored the third with a header after some fantastic footwork on the left from Oumar Solet, before Noah Okafor, Junior Adamu and Dijon Kameri all got in on the action after the break, with youngster Kameri particularly impressive, registering a goal and an assist in just his second Bundesliga appearance. The hosts couldn’t gain any momentum in the match despite a game-high three shots set-up by Bryan Teixeira, but they stay fourth, with Salzburg in second spot.
TSV Egger Glas Hartberg 2-0 SV Guntamatic Ried
Two second half strikes ensured Hartberg kept all three points at home in their game against ten-man Ried. The visitors were arguably starting to take control of proceedings when Hartberg struck at the other end of the pitch; Philipp Sturm’s cross was turned home on the volley with a touch of class from debutant Eylon Almog to give the home side the lead. Not long later, Tin Plavotic made Ried’s job harder as he received a second yellow card. It was the third red card of the campaign already for the Upper Austrian team, more than anyone else in the league. Hartberg completed the formalities in stoppage time when Patrik Farkas found Dario Tadic, who coolly slotted in his 44th Bundesliga goal for the club, extending his own club record. Ried drop to 11th with the defeat, whilst Hartberg’s second win of the season moves them into seventh place.
LASK 4-1 CASHPOINT SCR Altach
LASK remain at the top of the table after a comprehensive win over bottom club Altach, who were missing suspended top scorer Atdhe Nuhiu. Robert Zulj got the home team started when his crisp finish capped off a LASK passing move just after the half-hour mark. It was his first goal since he moved to Upper Austria - a 28th career Bundesliga strike, and his first since way back in 2014 when he played for Salzburg. Altach mustered a more than credible response, and they were level on the hour when Forson Amankwah smashed a long shot onto the woodwork, only to see the rebound turned in from the chest of teammate Jan Jurcec. LASK didn’t take that lying down though, and just three minutes later, Branko Jovicic launched a rocket of a strike into the roof of the Altach net to restore the lead. The hosts then hit their stride in the closing stages, as Sascha Horvath extended the lead, and Efthymios Koulouris converted a low cross for his first Bundesliga goal. LASK hold on to their lead in the standings for another weekend, but Altach slip to 12th place.
SK Austria Klagenfurt 3-3 FK Austria Wien

The battle of the two violet “Austrias” ended all-square after a dramatic clash in Klagenfurt. It took Markus Pink just 127 seconds to open the scoring for the home side; his long low shot was his 14th goal for Klagenfurt, his first from outside the area, and the club’s fastest ever Bundesliga goal! It took until first half stoppage time for an equalliser to come, but when it did it was something special from Matthias Braunöder, as he chested the ball down in the area and volleyed home acrobatically on the turn for only his second league goal. Michael Blauensteiner and Jonas Arweiler came on at half time for the home side, and just seconds after the restart they combined to tee up Florian Rieder to restore the lead. The quality of the goals remained high to say the least, as Reinhold Ranftl crashed in a technically superb volley from the edge of the area to register his first goal in Austria Wien colours. 2-2, and still around 40 minutes were left to play! With just under 15 to go, Can Keles lashed the ball in from close range to put the guests ahead for the first time in the contest, but they couldn’t hold on, as Andy Irving kept his cool and made it 3-3 with his first Bundesliga goal from the penalty spot late on. Both teams left the field with some frustrations, but in the end the shared spoils leave the teams joined on five points, in positions eight and nine.
SK Rapid Wien 1-2 SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz
A tough week for Rapid ended in disappointment, as Sturm sealed an away win thanks to a late spot kick. Nicolas Kühn kept his head in a one-on-one situation to give the home team the lead after a quarter of an hour. Patrick Greil got his first Rapid assist with a ball slicing through Sturm’s defence, and on his fifth league appearance, Kühn showed composure as he got his first goal. After 24 minutes, Sturm were back on terms, as a training ground corner routine saw the ball float towards Manprit Sarkaria on the edge of the box; his volley was turned home at close range by Gregory Wüthrich, giving the keeper no chance. For Wüthrich it was a sixth career Bundesliga goal, and it marked goal number 100 of the new league season. Late in the game, young striker Emanuel Emegha went down in the box and earned his team a penalty, and a red card for defender Martin Moormann. Tomi Horvat stepped up to score his first league goal for Sturm, and hand the visitors a 2-1 win which takes them third in the table. Rapid remain in fifth, four points behind their guests, with one game in hand.
WSG Tirol 1-3 RZ Pellets WAC
Wolfsberg are off the bottom after coming from behind to win against WSG. Zan Rogelj raced away after a defensive blunder to put the home team in front after just five minutes. He’s got two goals already this term, after scoring just once in all of last season. Wolfsberg responded well though, and ten minutes later they were level. Nikolaos Vergos clipped a precise pass into the box for the on-rushing Adis Jasic, and the young full back found the back of the net with no problems for his second of the season. By the second half the away team were in control, and Adis Jasic turned assist provider when he played the final ball of a quick transition move towards Augustine Boakye, who tapped in his first Bundesliga goal on the hour. As the full time whistle approached, there was still time for another premiere, as Boakye passed to Thierno Ballo, who got his first league goal in his 13th appearance, and sealed a 3-1 win. WAC shrugged off their European disappointment with a much needed three points, and they move up to tenth, with WSG staying in sixth.
