Bundesliga Match Day 26 Reviews
CASHPOINT SCR Altach 0-1 FC Flyeralarm Admira

Admira claimed their second victory of the Qualification Group by beating Altach 1-0. The win saw the Lower Austrians move off the foot of the table and into fifth, one point and one place behind the Vorarlbergers. There was not a single shot on target before the break - for the first time in a Bundesliga match this season - but the deadlock was broken when Breunig slotted home Auer’s cross in the 63rd minute. It was Breunig’s fourth Bundesliga goal - three of which have come on the road - and Auer’s first assist in the Austrian top flight since 23 April 2019, when he was part of the Rapid Vienna team that won 4-2 in Hartberg.
TSV Prolactal Hartberg 0-0 spusu SKN St. Pölten
Despite their superior shot count (15-7), possession (67%), challenges won (53%) and pass completion (79%-58%), Hartberg could not find a way past a St. Pölten side low on confidence and on a miserable run of form. But the Styrians, who are now on a club-record six-match unbeaten run at home in the Bundesliga, remain top of the Qualification Group after their closest challengers dropped points. For the Lower Austrians, the point was their first of the Qualification Group and only their second in the last eight games. However, they are still bottom of the table for the first time all season after Admira’s win.
FK Austria Vienna 2-2 SV Guntamatic Ried

Ried ended their five-match losing run against Austria Vienna and extended their unbeaten start to the Qualification Group (W2 D2) with a 2-2 draw at the Generali Arena. The Upper Austrians twice went ahead through Reiner and Grüll, but had their lead cancelled out on both occasions by Sarkaria and Djuricin, who scored their eighth and 23rd Bundesliga goals respectively. Reiner’s opener, which came in the second minute, was the earliest Bundesliga goal Ried have scored since December 2012. Austria are still in second place on 19 points, with Ried three points behind in third.
WSG Swarovski Tirol 3-2 FC Red Bull Salzburg

Smith popped up to score a late winner as WSG Tirol continued their stellar season with a surprise 3-2 victory over Salzburg - their first-ever against the Red Bulls in the Bundesliga. Baden Frederiksen had earlier scored his 13th and 14th goals of the season, making him the highest-scoring WSG player ever in a single top-flight campaign. The Dane has now netted three braces since the start of 2021 - a feat matched only by Salzburg striker Daka. The Tyroleans stay sixth due to results elsewhere, while the champions still have a comfortable eight-point cushion over their nearest rivals.
SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz 0-1 RZ Pellets WAC

Wolfsberg became the first club since the inception of the Bundesliga to win five away games in a row against Sturm Graz. The victory came courtesy of a last-minute Liendl penalty - his fifth spot-kick of the season and his 46th top-flight goal for the Wolves - after Geyrhofer had brought down Dieng in the dying seconds, leading to his dismissal. The result saw the Carinthian club, who occupy fifth spot in the Championship Group, reduce the gap to the fourth-placed Styrians to just one point. Wolfsberg had announced earlier in the day that 56-year-old German Robin Dutt would become their new head coach ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
LASK 1-1 SK Rapid Wien
Neither LASK nor Rapid Vienna, who occupy third and second in the table respectively, could take full advantage of Salzburg’s slip-up as they played out a 1-1 draw in Pasching. Goiginger finally broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute, only for Knasmüllner to pull the capital club level eight minutes later. Knasmullner, who now has nine goals this season and 42 overall in the Bundesliga, took his goal tally against LASK to seven and has only found the net more often against Mattersburg (eight times). The average age of this Rapid starting line-up was 26 years and 244 days - their oldest in the Bundesliga since March 2017.
